Connect Salesforce to fill your fynk templates with data from Salesforce, so you don't have to copy names, addresses and deal values by hand.
Available on Essential, Business and Pro · fynk: Owner and Admin · Salesforce: System Administrator, or permission to use App Manager
Set up the connection
- In fynk, go to Account settings → API integrations, click Configure on the Salesforce tile and copy the Redirect url.
- In Salesforce, go to Setup → App Manager → New Connected App. Enter an app name and contact email.
- Under OAuth Settings:
- Check Enable OAuth Settings.
- Paste the fynk Redirect url as Callback URL.
- Add the scopes Manage user data via APIs (api) and Perform requests at any time (refresh_token, offline_access).
- Uncheck Require Secret for Web Server Flow.
- Save. It can take up to 10 minutes until the app is ready.
- In App Manager, open your app, click Manage Consumer Details and copy the Consumer Key and Consumer Secret. Salesforce may ask you to verify your identity first.
- In fynk, enter the Consumer key, Consumer secret and Custom domain (your Salesforce domain, for example https://your-company.my.salesforce.com/) and click Save.
- You're redirected to Salesforce to give fynk the necessary permissions. Confirm them, and you're redirected back to fynk.
Map Salesforce data in a template
- Open a template and go to the Data Mapping tab.
- Select Salesforce as the data source and map fields from contacts, accounts or opportunities to dynamic fields.
- Link parties in the Parties tab and, optionally, metadata in the Metadata tab.
Create a document
- Click Create and choose the Salesforce-linked template.
- Enter the name of the Salesforce record.
- Click Create document. The data is filled in.
To update the data later, click Reload Data in the document sidebar.
Good to know
- In Data Mapping, you can set a document name. Otherwise the template name is used. Which fields you can map depends on the data source you select.
- Linking metadata to Salesforce fields helps with exports, reports and analyses.
- Data flows from Salesforce to fynk only. Nothing is written back to Salesforce.
- Documents are created from fynk, not triggered from Salesforce.
- Dynamic pricing tables can pull product and pricing data from Salesforce. See Dynamic pricing tables.
