Search and AI search
Find documents by searching their full text, or ask in plain language with AI search.

fynk has two ways to find documents: the regular search looks for exact words inside your documents, and AI search turns a question in plain language into filters.

Which one to use
Search
Type in the search field at the top of fynk, or in the search field of the document list.
Search looks in:
the full text of every document, including scanned PDFs
metadata values
parties
Search doesn't look in tags (use the tag filter), attachments or files in a document's file storage.
The search looks for an exact match. Searching for within 30 days only finds documents containing exactly that phrase.
For an even stricter search, add a space before and after the phrase, for example " within 30 days ". Then only matches that include those spaces are found.
AI search
Open the document list or the global search.
Switch on AI mode.
Ask your question, for example Service agreements over €5,000 signed last month or Contracts with a notice date in the next 90 days.
fynk turns your question into filters and shows the matching documents.
You can see and adjust the filters fynk applied, and save the result as a view.
Good to know
AI search works with metadata. The better your metadata, the better the results. Confirm AI analysis results so values are available. See Review and confirm AI analysis results.
To ask questions about the content of a single document, use the AI assistant instead. See Ask the AI Assistant about your contracts.
You only find documents you have access to.
AI search may use AI credits. See AI credits: allowance, top-ups and usage.
