Read and navigate PDF documents

Use the PDF viewer to read long contracts, find a clause and inspect detailed plans without downloading the file. Zoom, page previews, automatic sections and text search help you get to the right place.

Zoom into the document

Open a PDF document and use the viewer's zoom controls to enlarge its content. PDF zoom changes the document size independently of the surrounding fynk interface, so navigation and tools stay accessible.

This is especially useful for large-format construction plans, technical drawings or small print. When preparing a PDF for signing, zoom in to position fields and signature blocks more precisely.

Get an overview with the minimap

Open the document's minimap to see a miniature overview of its pages. Use the page previews to orient yourself in a long document and find the part you want to inspect.

Navigate with automatic sections

fynk's AI can divide uploaded PDFs into logical sections. Use those sections to jump to the relevant part of a long or merged PDF instead of scrolling through every page.

Sections help you navigate the file. They do not turn its contents into separate fynk documents.

Find text inside the PDF

1. Open the PDF document.
2. Use the text search in the PDF viewer and enter a name, phrase or term from the document.
3. Review the matches in the document to find the passage you need.

For example, search for a supplier's name, “termination” or a contract number. Searching inside the viewer finds passages in the open PDF. To find a document across your repository, use Search and AI search.

Check where an AI-extracted value came from

For metadata extracted by the AI, use the source marker next to the value to see the passage it came from in the PDF. This helps you check a date, amount or clause in context. See Review and confirm AI analysis results.

Good to know

• Search in scanned PDFs depends on text recognition. If text is missing from the results, check whether the scan is clear and readable.
• The viewer does not let you rewrite the original PDF text. For a PDF prepared for signing, you can drag dynamic fields and signature blocks onto it and use the placement aid to position them.
• For a password-protected PDF uploaded as a document, enter the password when fynk asks. Password-protected PDFs in file storage can be uploaded but cannot be viewed inside fynk.
