The fynk editor works much like Word or Google Docs, but it also knows about parties, dynamic fields and signature blocks. You use it for templates and for documents created in fynk.
Available on all plans
Edit mode and preview
Templates can always be edited.
Documents open in preview. Switch to Edit in the document header to make changes.
Once signing has started, the document is locked. To change it, you have to stop signing and enable editing again, and existing signatures are removed. See Change signatories or cancel signing after it has started.
The preview shows the document as it will look when it's sent: with the dynamic field values filled in, without hidden conditional text, without highlights and without invisible table borders. Page breaks and headers and footers only appear in the PDF.
The command menu
Press Ctrl+P (Windows) or Cmd+P (Mac), or select some text, to open the command menu. From here you can:
choose text styles (title, heading, subheading, normal text), font, size and colour
set alignment, indentation and line spacing, and copy formatting
create lists, tables and page breaks, and insert a table of contents
add dynamic fields, party placeholders, signature blocks, conditions and cross-references
use AI to write, translate or correct text. See AI writing tools in the editor.
The elements panel
In the Insert element panel on the right, you find the parties, dynamic fields and signature blocks of the document. Drag them into the text, or click them to edit their settings.
Search and replace
Use search and replace to find a word or phrase and replace every occurrence at once. You can also replace text with a party placeholder or a dynamic field. This is useful after importing a Word file, for example to turn every "[Customer]" into the customer's name placeholder.
Images
Insert images with the image icon. Click an image to align it left, centre or right, let text flow around it, resize it or delete it.
Keyboard shortcuts
Good to know
Save your changes before leaving the editor. [CHECK: how saving works]
Use Chrome, Edge or Firefox for the best performance with long documents. [CHECK: Safari note]
If fynk shows a warning about duplicate IDs after pasting content, click Auto-fix.
Custom fonts can't be uploaded. Choose from the fonts in the command menu.
