Before signing, you can discuss the document with the sender directly in fynk. Your comments and suggestions are visible to the sender, so there's no need to send emails back and forth.

Add a comment

  1. Hover over the paragraph you want to comment on.

  2. Click the comment icon on the right edge of the document.

  3. Write your comment. To mention someone involved in the document, type @ and choose their name.

  4. Click Save, or press Cmd+Enter (Ctrl+Enter on Windows).

You can also write general comments in the discussion panel. [CHECK: name of the panel for externals]

Propose a change to the text

  1. Hover over the paragraph and click the comment icon.

  2. Click Propose change.

  3. Edit the text. Your changes are shown in green (added) and red (removed).

  4. Optionally add a comment, then click Submit proposal.

The sender sees your proposal and decides whether to accept or reject it.

Bring in a colleague

If someone else at your company needs to review or sign:

  1. Click the share icon at the top right.

  2. Enter their email address and press Enter.

  3. Choose whether to send them an invitation by email or create a link to share yourself.

To add another signatory for your company, use + Add signatory when fynk asks who signs, or add them in the share dialog. [CHECK: can externals add signatories after the wizard?]

For a business party, a new signatory needs an email address. First and last name are optional.

The share dialog lists everyone involved. Re-send sends the invitation email again, Share link copies the invitation link, and clicking a person's role and choosing Remove User removes their access.

Good to know

  • Propose change only appears if the sender allows proposals, and only in documents created in fynk. In uploaded PDFs, use comments instead.

  • You only see comments the sender has shared externally. Their internal notes stay private.

  • Comments can't be edited or deleted after saving. [CHECK]

  • You can't upload your own version of the document. If you have a marked-up Word file, describe the changes in a comment or ask the sender how they'd like to receive it.

  • Once signing has started, the text can't change anymore. If something is wrong, write a comment; the sender has to cancel the signing to make changes.
