When a document is final, you send it for signature directly from fynk. Signatories don't need a fynk account; they sign through a link in their email.
Available on all plans · Users with edit access to the document [CHECK: can Limited Managers start signing?]
Before you start
The document exists in fynk: created from a template, written in the editor, or uploaded as Word or PDF. For PDFs, see Sign an uploaded PDF.
Every party that signs has at least one signatory with a name and email address.
Check the parties: complete legal names, correct addresses and registration details, each signatory on the right party, and the signature blocks assigned correctly.
Send the document
Open the document.
Add the parties and signatories, if they aren't there yet. fynk shows a notice when a party is missing. For your own company, pick the internal party from the address book icon. You can add yourself, a colleague, or type a name and email.
Click Place signature blocks and drag one block per party to where it belongs. See Place and adjust signature blocks.
Click Start signing.
Choose the signature type: simple, advanced or qualified. See Signature types: simple, advanced, qualified.
Optional: set a signing order if signatories should sign one after another. See Signing order, several signatories, one person for several parties.
Optional: add a message to the signatories and CC recipients who should get the signed copy.
Click Start signing again. fynk emails each signatory an invitation to sign.
What happens next
The document moves to the Signing stage and is locked. Its content can't change while signing is in progress, so everyone signs exactly the same text.
The stage column in the document list shows the progress, for example 1/2 signed.
Signatories who haven't signed yet get a reminder email automatically. See Reminders, CC recipients and signing links.
When the last signatory has signed, the document moves to Signed. All parties and CC recipients receive the signed PDF by email.
Good to know
You can start signing straight from Draft. You don't have to go through Review first, unless the document has checkpoints.
You can still change signatories while signing is in progress, for example a wrong email address. See Change signatories or cancel signing after it has started.
You can't change the text after signing has started. To change it, cancel the signing; all signatures given so far are lost.
The signature type set in a template can't be changed in documents created from it.
You can't schedule when signing starts or set a signing deadline. As a workaround, add a date field, link it to metadata and create a task from it.
If the other side should fill in fields or review first, invite them as collaborators before you start signing. See Share a document with external parties.
Troubleshooting
Start signing is greyed out or shows an error? A mandatory field is empty, a signature block isn't placed, or a party has no signatory. See I can't start signing.
