I can't start signing
The most common reasons why Start signing is blocked, and how to fix each one.

If Start signing is greyed out or shows an error, something in the document isn't ready yet. Go through the causes below, starting with the most common.
"Some mandatory details are missing"
A mandatory dynamic field is still empty. Open the fields panel and fill in every field marked as mandatory.
Mandatory fields must be filled even if a condition currently hides the paragraph they're in.
If the field is meant for the other side, for example their address or registration number, invite them as a collaborator first so they can fill it in. Once everything is complete, you or they can start signing. See Share a document with external parties.
A signature block isn't placed
Every signatory needs a signature block positioned in the document. If a block exists but isn't placed, or a block belongs to no one, signing can't start. Place the block, or remove the signatory or block you don't need. See Place and adjust signature blocks.
A party has no signatory
Every party that signs needs at least one signatory with a name and email address. Open the parties panel and add the missing signatory.
The same email address is used twice
An email address can only be used once per document. If one person signs for two parties, use a plus suffix such as name+1@company.com. See Signing order, several signatories, one person for several parties.
An approval is still pending
If the template has a checkpoint before signing, the approvers have to approve first. Check the status with the flag icon in the document. See Internal approvals with checkpoints.
You haven't joined the document
If you can see the document but can't change anything, click Join document in the blue bar at the top first. See I can't edit a document.
The document was imported without signing
Documents uploaded with Import without signing are stored as already signed. Upload the PDF again and choose Sign document. See Sign an uploaded PDF.
The uploaded PDF causes an error
PDFs with form fields, encryption or unusual elements can fail when signing starts. Flatten the PDF when fynk offers it, or save it again with "Print to PDF" and upload the new file. See A PDF won't upload or shows errors.
Someone is still editing the document
Signing can't start while someone has the document open in edit mode, or while there is an active working copy. Save the changes and leave edit mode first.
Discussions are still open
Resolve all open discussions before you start signing.
A party type isn't set
Every signing party needs a type: business or person. Open the parties panel and set it.
A hidden error in the document
Hidden errors, such as a corrupt image, can block signing. Click Preview final document at the top right. If the preview renders, the document itself is fine.
Still stuck?
