New or changed metadata fields only apply to documents analysed from now on. To fill them in for documents you've already imported, run the AI analysis again for just those fields.
Available on all plans
For many documents at once (Smart fill)
Go to Documents and filter the list, for example by document type or import name.
Select the documents.
Choose AI analysis → Start new analyses, select Metadata, then choose Selected metadata.
Click Select metadata fields to extract… and pick the fields you want filled in.
Choose whether existing values should be overwritten or kept.
Click Run on … documents. This bulk action applies results automatically without a review step.
You can do the same for parties or the document type, for example after adding a new internal party.
For a single document
Open General in the document sidebar. The panel heading is Document settings.
Click the refresh icon next to AI analysis and choose what to analyse again.
Review and confirm the new results.
Good to know
Run it only for the fields you need. A full re-analysis takes longer and uses more AI credits.
Make sure the field is assigned to the right document types first. Otherwise the AI won't look for it. See Document types: set up and customise.
If you haven't chosen to overwrite, the AI only fills empty fields, and values you confirmed or entered manually stay as they are.
Test a changed field description on a few documents before running it on hundreds.
