Set up your internal parties (My Parties)

Add your own companies as internal parties so fynk recognises your side of every contract.

Internal parties are your own legal entities: your company and, if you have them, subsidiaries or other group companies. fynk uses them to tell your side of a contract from the other side, both when the AI reads imported contracts and when you send documents for signature.

Available on all plans · Owners and Admins

Why set them up first

  • Imports: the AI marks a party as internal only if it matches one of your internal parties. Without them, every party is treated as external.

  • Filtering and reporting: you can filter the document list and dashboards by internal party, for example "all contracts of our Austrian subsidiary".

  • Signing: when you add your own company to a document, you pick it from your internal parties, including the address.

Set up your internal parties before you import contracts. Parties added later aren't recognised in documents that were already analysed; you'd have to correct those by hand.

Add an internal party

  1. Go to Account Settings → My Parties.

  2. Click the + button.

  3. In Name, enter the legal name exactly as it appears in your contracts. In Address, enter the address.

  4. Click Create. Repeat for every legal entity that signs contracts.

Good to know

  • Add legal entities, not departments or locations. Use teams or metadata for departments and sites.

  • If your company was renamed or merged, add the former names too, so older contracts are recognised. If there are many historic names, a tag can be easier.

  • Everything that isn't an internal party is an external party. External parties are created automatically from your documents; you don't need to set them up.

  • There's no address book for saving and reusing external parties.

  • Whether a party is internal depends on the account. Your company is internal in your account, but external in your counterparty's account.

  • Your internal parties are preselected when you create new documents and templates.

  • A person who signs for your company is a signatory of the internal party, not a party of their own.

Troubleshooting

Imported contracts show my company as an external party? The name doesn't match an internal party, or the party was added after the import. Add or correct the internal party, then fix the party in the affected documents or run the AI analysis again for parties. See Fill new metadata on existing documents.
