Set up your account: checklist for admins
The recommended order for setting up fynk, from users and teams to document types and metadata, before you import or create contracts.

A good setup takes about an hour and makes everything afterwards easier: the AI recognises your company, documents end up with the right people, and reminders work from day one. Follow these steps in order.
Available on all plans · For Owners and Admins
1. Account basics
Go to Account Settings and set the account name (it appears in emails to the other party), the document language and the default signature type. See Account settings overview.
Turn on two-factor authentication for your own login. See Log in, reset your password and set up 2FA.
2. Users and roles
Invite your colleagues and give each a role: Owner, Admin, Editor, Manager or Limited Manager. See Invite, manage and remove users and User roles and permissions.
3. Teams
Create teams for your departments or locations and add users. Teams decide who sees which documents. If every document should belong to a team, turn on Require team assignment under Account Settings → Document workflow. See Teams: control who sees which documents.
4. Your internal parties
Add every legal entity of your company under My Parties, with name and address. The AI then recognises your side in imported contracts. You don't need to add external parties: they're created automatically as you upload or create documents. See Set up your internal parties (My Parties).
5. Document types and metadata
Review the 16 predefined document types and turn off those you don't need. Check the reference metadata and add custom fields for anything else you want to track. See Document types: set up and customise and Create custom metadata the AI can extract.
6. Tags, branding and notifications (optional)
Create a few tags for labels you'll use often. See Tags.
Add your logo and colours. See Brand identity and email texts.
Check the default reminders. See Renewal and deadline reminders.
7. Test before you scale
Import two to five contracts, check the AI results and adjust document types and metadata if needed. Then import the rest. See Import your first contracts.
Good to know
You can change everything later, but changes to metadata only apply to new analyses. You can re-run the analysis for existing documents.
Setup works best if one or two people own it. Involve colleagues from Legal, Purchasing or HR for the metadata they need.
