If a new contract is almost the same as one you already have, duplicate it instead of starting again. The copy keeps the content and the dynamic field values you've already filled in, so you only change what's different.

Duplicate a document

  1. Go to Documents and find the document in the list.

  2. Open the … menu at the end of its row and choose Duplicate document.

  3. fynk creates a copy in the Draft stage and opens it.

  4. Rename the copy and change what's different, such as the parties, dates or prices.

Duplicate or use a template?

  • Duplicate when you need one more contract like an existing one, for example the same agreement with a second subsidiary.

  • Create a template when you'll create this kind of contract regularly. Templates keep a clean master copy and let you control what can be changed. See Create and publish a template.

Good to know

  • Uploaded PDFs can also be duplicated, for example to start a new signing process with the same file. [CHECK]

  • The copy is a new document. It counts towards your document total and gets its own AI analysis.

  • Changes to the copy don't affect the original.

  • To turn an existing document into a template, download it as Word or PDF and let the AI draft a template from it. See Create and publish a template.
